Neck collar tubing setup for Borg costume, need help with back attachment

I've been doing costume making for over a decade and recently built a full Borg drone suit for a convention. The neck piece is one of the trickiest parts. The hoses need to route cleanly from the collar to the back harness. I used flexible black vinyl tubing with heat-shrink connectors at each junction and secured them to a foam backing plate behind the neck.
Where do the hoses typically connect on the backside of the collar?
Is there a standard way to hide the wiring and maintain flexibility?

That sounds awesome! For the collar hoses, I've seen some anchor them to the upper back plate using low-profile clips or Velcro loops, it keeps them stable but still lets you move. For wiring, try running it through split loom tucked under the foam layers, it hides well and bends easily without stressing the wires.

what about using tubes, like real ones? You'll get the same effect and you can glue them to the rest of the costume? I'm thinking you can do more or less the same for the wiring. Get thicker cables and flex them as you want to.

@KitchenRecord17 lines up with what I've seen in some build guides. Using clips or Velcro on the upper back plate helps keep the tubing steady but still lets it move. I already have split loom, so I might try putting it under the foam like you suggested to keep the wiring neat and flexible.

@GuidingJoseph mentions using real tubes and thicker cables, which could look good, but I'm trying to avoid anything too stiff that could make it hard to move my neck and shoulders. I want something that will hold up all day at a con without needing constant fixes.

Has anyone tried magnetic anchors or snap fasteners for the hose ends instead of glue or Velcro? I have a few days before I put everything together, so I'm open to trying a couple different ways to mount things.
