Puppet making has become a hobby and I decided to create my third puppet, which is Oscar the Grouch. Not really sure how to do the eyes, I find it to be really complicated. But what? Isn't it so cute? Thinking of cutting out some segments from actual spheres to make it look exactly (hopefully) like that. But I'm not sure if that's the perfect strategy. Do let me know if you have other techniques in mind. Appreciate any help.

Hi there. I've made team mascot-type outfits for a person. Oscar could use the same materials. The main body is out of auto headliner fabric covered with a shag-type fake fur. And the eyes with ping pong balls with the centers painted on.

I've seen in other pics, I think they use ping pong balls or something like that.

Oscar's such a fun character to bring to life! For the eyes, using styrofoam balls cut and shaped with a knife and sandpaper works well, then coat with paper mache for durability and paint them white with black pupils! My daughter would love to see this!

I'm guessing anything that's white and round would work for the eyes? Maybe even a plastic ball cut down from one side and stick something black for the pupil? Not sure how much my advice would help, but I'd like to see the finished product.
