Bates "Strike" models boots closed match

Okay, so my boyfriend's been totally obsessed with finding these specific boots, kinda like the cool ones from that sci fi movie, I think he called it Bates "Strike" models

We were even talking about buying some silicone beeswax/hexagon shaped material and e6000 epoxy for the boots to make them look right, totally sounded like a headache, lol.

But then I stumbled across the Merrell Moab 2 or Moab 3 "Tactical Response 8" Waterproof Side Zip boots. They're actually a super close match!

I haven't seen anyone else talk about them for this, so I thought I'd share.

They look way better than anything we'd try to custom make.

I'm a sucker for the DIY approach and would take it any day of the week, just for the fun of it. With that said, I have to give you my hats off for finding such a close match. There are some tiny differences that someone who's looking for them will notice, but I doubt anyone's going to say anything. Your bf definitely will, and it's going to be positive. Good job!
