need some guidance with a costume

as a massive fan of alien, i'm looking to make an ellen ripley costume for myself and i need some help. as much as i'm into diy i'm sure that getting an already made siut would be better as i'd only sew the emblems and some finer details. do you think I'd be able to pull this off or should i go full diy?

When I began, I was also afraid of messing up. But growing into puppet-making and doing props, I realized yeah we all fork it up sometimes. Cliché but that's how we end up learning new techniques. So, man, if you are a "massive fan" then you should try it yourself. Nothing more fulfilling. You will pull it off, guaranteed.

You should try it, and many creative costume enhancements come from making an oops and making it work. Please show a photo once you have it completed.

You can definitely pull it off fr. Getting a basic flight suit and customizing it with patches and details is a smart move and way easier than full on DIY. Go for it mate.

Sooo nice to see this. I think it's been an underrated costumemaking subject. Don't you think? Full DIY is possible seeing that you got a passion for it.

Grab a basic flight suit and make it your own, the main construction can be a bit challenging. Instead, concentrate your efforts on adding patches, creating weathering effects, and picking out accessories, as those are where you'll really achieve the most authentic look.
