An Academic & Arts school has the beginner theater kids draw their 'clown" outfit then when approved they have to have it made.
I've done a few of these. Below is one drawing and then the finished outfit.

Thanks for sharing this. The transformation from sketch to costume is handled with care. It's always fun to see how a design changes when you start working with real materials. Your drawing had a lot of texture and layers, and you effectively incorporated most of that into the finished costume, particularly with the color blocks and sleeve details.

The feather and polka dots look great, and the tutu underneath gives it the shape the sketch suggested. If you have more students working on these, it can be helpful to ask them to label the fabric types or finishes in their sketches, so you can match what they imagine. Do you find your trims locally, or do you order special pieces, such as the cuffs and feathers, online?
